Historical Buildings & Landmarks of Trinidad & Tobago
This is our first foray into the research and production of a truly 100% local book that captures the vibrant beauty of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago and brings it into your living room. The seed of this project was planted when Richard began creating a photographic catalogue of our patrimony and sharing it with his thousands of active and engaging social media followers. The most asked question at that time was “Is this really Trinidad & Tobago?”.
Motivated by this, we made the decision to expand on the idea and to create a series of books that captured not only the beautiful imagery of the islands, but also supporting narratives that explain the historical and cultural significance of each image.
The journey toward the fulfilment of this goal commenced in 2017 and was completed in 2020. Because of conditions spawned by the global COVID-19 pandemic, efforts at marketing and production were suspended until 2021. In the interim however, no moss has been allowed to gather on this rolling stone, as we have forged ahead with activities geared toward solidifying the status of Volume 1 and Volume 2.
Volume 1 and Volume 2 have been successful in achieving official certification by the Artist Registry of the Ministry of Community Development, Culture, and the Arts (now under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts) for its local content in 2020 and 2021 respectively..
