Vanishing Arts & Traditions of Trinidad & Tobago
$61.00
This extraordinary book pays tribute to the forgotten hands and hearts behind Trinidad and Tobago’s traditional crafts, trades, and cultural expressions. From blacksmiths and broom makers to wood carvers, milkmen, and mas builders, Vanishing Arts & Traditions of Trinidad & Tobago brings the island’s rich heritage to life through powerful storytelling and ultra-high-resolution photographic imagery.
Each scene has been carefully reconstructed and photographed to resemble a modern-day portrait of the past—featuring authentic tools, dress, and environments. These images, paired with vibrant narrative descriptions, capture not only the how, but the why of our vanishing traditions—revealing the pride, ingenuity, and artistry of generations gone by.
Created by cultural documentarian and photographer Richard A.J. Ramirez, this work is a heartfelt preservation of our living memory. It invites readers of all ages to reconnect with their roots and appreciate the legacies that helped build modern Trinbago. Whether you are an educator, cultural enthusiast, or proud Trinbagonian, this book belongs on your shelf—and in your heart.
